Computer Science Department Holds Regular Meeting

As part of its ongoing efforts to develop the educational process and enhance communication with students, the Computer Science Department at the Islamic University of Minnesota held its regular meeting on Sunday, April 20, 2025, chaired by Dr. Yaser Al-Malek Sulaiman, the department head. The meeting focused on discussing important academic and administrative issues and proposing new ideas to improve the quality of educational programs.

During the meeting, the progress of the educational process in the summer semester was reviewed, emphasizing the importance of organizing programming projects and monitoring class schedules to ensure discipline and achievement.

The discussion also highlighted the necessity of updating curricula, stressing the importance of developing graduation project programs and conducting regular updates to the curricula to keep pace with rapid changes in the technology field.

In the context of discussing the organization of practical courses, the meeting underscored the need to achieve a balance between theoretical and practical aspects and to provide a stimulating educational environment for innovation and application.

Suggestions were presented for developing future programming competitions and projects that would help refine students' skills and enhance their professional readiness.

The meeting concluded with the department's management reaffirming its commitment to developing the academic environment and achieving the best educational outcomes, contributing to the preparation of distinguished graduates capable of meeting labor market demands. Consequently, the following recommendations were adopted:

1. Hold regular meetings to monitor academic developments. 

2. Improve the coordination mechanism for class schedules.

3. Effectively integrate practical activities into the curricula.

4. Enhance summer activities and develop educational camps.

5. Implement a comprehensive evaluation of curricula for continuous updating.
