Approval of Research Plan to Study Legal Challenges of Foreign Investments in Syria

A scientific committee from the Department of Law, chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Mohammed Shuaib Abdulmaqsoud, has approved a research plan prepared by the Syrian researcher Sulaiman Khalid Mohammed Al-Hassan Baraka. This study aims to explore the challenges and solutions related to the legal protection of foreign investments in light of international sanctions imposed on Syria after the conflict, as part of his pursuit of a PhD in Law from the Faculty of Sharia and Law.
The decision to approve the plan came after discussing it in a seminar session held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 9:00 PM Mecca time. The session was overseen by the Graduate Studies Deanship at the Islamic University of Minnesota, main campus. The committee included members: Dr. Nancy Al-Faqi, Dr. Ihab Talat Abdulkhaleq, and Dr. Hiba Ramadan.
