About the Center

Introducing the Center

The importance of establishing the Latin American Studies Center lies in equipping students and scholars with the essential skills required in various academic fields related to the departments of the College of Arts and Humanities, especially in political, historical, archaeological studies, and African studies. Therefore, it is essential to raise general societal awareness politically and intellectually and to develop individual capacities among students specialized in these studies in the age of globalization and changing concepts due to conflicts affecting societies and peoples today. The center aims to lay the foundations of academic thought among students and young researchers in various academic disciplines needed in the job market, while also developing capacities related to scientific and methodological thinking among researchers and students, and preparing them correctly in historical, archaeological, and political sciences, etc.

The center's vision is committed to the scientific and academic research methodology, emphasizing the necessity of training a new generation of critical thinkers in related studies according to standards of accuracy, objectivity, quality, and professionalism.

Mission

Providing advanced and innovative programs in education and training in the scientific disciplines offered by the center, contributing to building the capacities of students and researchers, enriching their knowledge and cultural components, and striving to transfer research-related knowledge and experiences (academically) to specialists and those interested.

Objective

The Latin American Studies Center aims to hold scientific courses both within and outside the university, granting diplomas and certificates in the announced fields. These courses and diplomas will be overseen by researchers and academics with competence and scientific experience, thus enhancing the scientific and academic environment in Arab and Islamic countries.

Target Audience for the Center's Courses

  • All students enrolled at the university.
  • All university staff, including professors and administrators from various cultural backgrounds.
  • The public who are not enrolled at the university and wish to take courses and conduct research scientifically in the announced scientific and academic fields at the center.
