Goals of the Center
The Manuscripts Institute aims for the following:
- Developing researchers and workers to study manuscripts and investigate heritage.
- Work to help students and researchers obtain a certificate in this delicate specialty (manuscripts and heritage investigation).
- Establishing a large manuscript treasury for the University of Minnesota, USA, in order to provide the manuscripts that researchers need at nominal prices.
- Creating a database that contains the titles of the messages that were discussed within the university, and other messages that are under investigation, in order to preserve the right of researchers.
- Exchanging manuscripts and experiences from other universities and manuscript centers.
- Contributing to supervising scientific theses, with the help of one of the professors of the department in which the investigation takes place, so the investigation professor supervises the selection of the book, collecting and arranging the written copies, and adjusting the text, and the professor of the other department undertakes the rest of the work, from studying the issues that need to be studied and so on.
- Participating in discussions (if the thesis is a manuscript investigation), in order to discuss with the researcher issues related to manuscripts, in terms of choosing a book, arranging its written copies, copying, setting, and other delicate matters.
