About the Deanship

Overview

The Graduate Affairs Deanship is the first step by which the graduate begins his professional life and his orientation to the labor market. Which enables graduates to pursue their educational career.

The deanship also provides a set of services required by governmental and private institutions related to verifying academic degrees and specializations for graduates of the Islamic University of Minnesota through an integrated electronic system.

Vision

The vision of the graduate affairs deanship is to be a regional and international leader in building a mutual and sustainable relationship between graduates and the university by offering programs that refine their skills. On the other hand, it contributes to the development of academic programs at the university, which benefits the community. 

Mission

The mission of the deanship is to create an educational and social environment for students that enhances their loyalty to the university and enables them to highlight their capabilities as ambassadors of the Islamic University of Minnesota in the whole world, in support of the university's mission, goals and vision. 

Objectives

  1. Issue graduation documents for graduates in both Arabic and English, complete their certification from official institutions in America, and follow up on sending them to the student's address registered with the Dean of Graduate Studies.
  2. Seek, in coordination with the Department of External Relations and International Cooperation, to open broad horizons for the accreditation of certificates issued by the university for all previous batches since the establishment of the college, throughout the entire year.
  3. Prepare the required statistics related to graduates.
  4. Organize an annual celebration for graduates and prepare a directory for graduates, including university graduates.
  5. Establish a graduates' association and activate it, which will provide services to graduates of the Islamic University of Minnesota and maintain communication with them and ensure the continuity of this communication with the university
  6. Involve graduates by participating in activities related to social and professional development and in university activities and events
  7. Enhance public awareness and highlight the good image of the Islamic University of Minnesota by presenting and promoting the achievements of graduates.
  8. Building an accurate and up-to-date database with information on graduates through contact details and job information, taking into account privacy on the one hand and ease of communication between graduates on the other.
  9. Provide graduates with feedback regarding the university experience as well as the job market experience, to improve the efficiency of those enrolled in it in various educational and training fields that are consistent with their specializations.
  10. Attract distinguished graduates to participate in giving lectures, seminars, and workshops at the university.
  11. Provide an influential and effective platform for graduates to raise their issues and contribute to proposing appropriate solutions.
  12. Keep graduates in permanent contact and communication with the academic field to exchange opinions and update their scientific information by following up on the latest scientific developments through the channels of communication that the university provides between the unit and the university community with its various bodies of faculty members and students, and involve graduates in its various events and activities and continue graduates' benefit from the services provided by the university.
  13. Active participation in the university's annual career days and provide advice to expected graduates and graduates regarding the labor market and the requirements for professional success, as well as contribute to providing job opportunities for graduates.
  14. Strengthening the partnership between the university and employers through its graduates in various sectors.
  15. Facilitate the building of partnerships with the work entities of graduates with regard to cooperative training.
