Center Departments

1- Da'wah Department

It is concerned with introducing the religion to non-Muslims and those new to the Islamic religion as well as with qualifying preachers through holding training courses.

2- Department of Translation and Linguistic Proofreading

It includes a selected group of specialists in language and religious sciences to translate religious and Da'wah texts from Arabic into English and vice versa, editing the language and revising texts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of texts.

3- Department of Guidance and Education

It is interested in providing specialized programs to answer the questions of those wishing to convert to the Islamic religion, and to provide guidance to Muslims and those new to Islam on such religious matters as rituals and worship.

4- Department of Public Relations and Social Communication

It builds and strengthens relationships with the local community, with governmental and private institutions, and with international organizations.

5- Planning Department

The tasks and functions of this department are as follows: 

  • Analyzing data and information in order to determine community needs and direct plans and programs according to this data. 
  • Developing long-term strategies and plans. 
  • Developing operational plans by converting long-term plans into operational plans. 

6- Follow-up and Implementation Department

This department follows up the implementation of scientific programs and activities to ensure that they achieve the center’s objectives and meet the needs of the target group. This is done as follows:

  • Evaluating the level of activities and programs provided and developing them. 
  • Coordinating efforts by attracting some lecturers from other departments to present some of the center’s activities. 
  • Preparing periodic reports on the progress of activities and projects for senior management and concerned parties. 
  • Following up on the needs and resources needed for the center’s activities.

7 - Department of Seminars and Training Programs

It is concerned with proposing and presenting Da'wah activities for the target group to understand Islam correctly and deeply. Among the proposed courses are: 

1. Preachers’ qualification programmes:

  • Educational courses for preaching in various aspects of preaching, such as the sciences of the Qur’an, jurisprudence, the Prophet’s hadith, and interpretation.
  • Workshops on developing religious rhetoric to improve the preachers’ oratory skills and train them in latest know-how. 
  • Courses on contemporary issues such as technology, political developments and social issues. 
  • Online Educational Programs: Provides online educational resources such as videos and interactive courses to help preachers access sources of knowledge easily.

2. Programs for students and participants:

There are many diverse Da'wah courses and projects proposed to meet the needs of the target audience. 

  • Courses in forensic sciences.
  • Workshops on worship and rituals to provide explanations and practical guidance on worship and rituals such as fasting and Hajj And Umrah., … etc. It is done simultaneously with its timing. 
  • Courses on common suspicions about Islam aimed at refuting and repudiating  them. 
  • Programs to promote peaceful coexistence between religions. 
  • Programs to enhance individuals’ social participation and volunteering in charitable and volunteer service activities and to enhance the human spirit within an Islamic framework. 
  • Educational courses for children and youth: focusing on teaching Islamic values and personality development among children and youth through interactive activities that can be implemented in coordination with some organizations.
  • Training programs on personal skills such as communication, leadership, time management, problem solving, and enhancing self-confidence.

8- The Fatwa Department

The Fatwa Department at the Islamic University of Minnesota's Da'wah Center is honored to provide answers to all your religious inquiries and clarifications.

The department's fatwas are based on the statements of scholars and jurists of the ummah, adhering to the most authoritative opinions according to Islamic Sharia. Services are available in both Arabic and English.
