Message from the Head of the Department

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the noblest of prophets and messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.

Dear all,

I am pleased and honored to welcome you all to the Computer Science Department at the College of Computer and Information Systems at the University of Minnesota, Main Center.

The Computer Science Department is one of the newest and most important departments in the college. It offers a Bachelor's program in Computer Science, and in the future, Master's and Ph.D. degrees that meet the highest regional and international standards to fulfill the needs of the job market. The department is staffed by a distinguished faculty and researchers, as well as a number of dedicated administrative staff.

The department and the college leadership are working on promising and distinguished initiatives to achieve the department's vision according to the highest international standards in improving the efficiency and quality of university education outcomes.

The department's program consists of 120 credit hours divided into eight semesters, following a modern and advanced curriculum that meets the needs of the job market for scientifically, practically, and ethically outstanding graduates. The department strives to achieve its vision, mission, and goals in an atmosphere of cooperation and a commitment to the students' interests and the public interest of the college and the university.

The importance of studying computer science lies in the significant role that the field plays in various scientific and industrial domains. Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science equips individuals with multiple analytical and creative capacities that enable them to tackle problems and find innovative solutions using programming and advanced technologies.

Finally, we are all ears to any proposals that can contribute to the development of the educational process in the Computer Science Department.
