Department head’s speech
In the name of God, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace
It pleases me to begin this brief speech with sincere thanks to our sheikh and professor, His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Walid Al-Manisi, and Dr. Omar Al-Muqarmi, Vice President of the University and General Supervisor of the Main Center, for their generous confidence in the decision to designate me as founder and head of the Department of Management Information Systems. I ask God Almighty to live up to their good expectations, and I am pleased to I welcome you to the Department of Management Information Systems on my behalf and on behalf of the faculty members and the academic and administrative team in the department.
This section is considered to keep pace with the era of the information technology revolution in which we live, and given the technological development in all areas of our lives, management has been affected by these developments and it has become necessary to keep up with these developments. The use of information technology, with its equipment and software, in the areas of management is not a luxury or optional, but has become a binding necessity, and it has become true. Most business organizations cannot work without using information and communications technology in all of their administrative operations procedures to conduct their work. Accordingly, administrative systems were created and modernized to keep pace with information and communications technology. Information systems were created, their fields multiplied, and they imposed themselves at all administrative levels (lower, middle, and upper), and they emerged. There is a need in the labor market for qualified and trained staff in the fields of management information systems, so it was necessary for all universities and colleges to establish a specialization in management information systems to keep pace with these developments and achieve the desire and demand of the labor market for the functional needs necessary to operate and manage business organizations. Whereas our blessed university took the initiative and, thank God, this department was established, which will be the nucleus of a college specializing in information systems and technology. We seek through this department to present a scientific thesis in the science of modern electronic management that qualifies our enrolled students and equips them with technological skills and knowledge with international quality and academic standards that qualifies them to carry out their duty in Institutions.
