All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, the trustworthy messenger, and upon his family and companions.
By the grace of Allah, our esteemed university continues its pioneering academic journey, harnessing its academic resources to be a beacon of knowledge and excellence. Among the blessings we have received is the opportunity to establish new colleges that meet the needs of the modern era and contribute to building societies that are better prepared to face challenges. Among these colleges is the College of Development Studies, which includes the distinguished Department of Disaster and Strategic Risk Management—an academic center specializing in the study and management of risks using scientific and strategic approaches that keep pace with the rapidly evolving global landscape.
In pursuit of its ambitious vision, the department offers comprehensive academic programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, adhering to the latest global academic standards. These programs aim to prepare qualified professionals equipped with the necessary skills and expertise to handle crises and risks in innovative and proactive ways. The department also strives to attract researchers and specialists from various related fields, contributing to the university's mission of enhancing preparedness and effective crisis response at both local and international levels.
We are grateful to have assembled a distinguished group of academics and experts who serve as a cornerstone of the department’s success, helping to develop it into a competitive academic model regionally and internationally. Believing that excellence can only be achieved through collective efforts, we work as a unified team to advance the department and establish it as a leading academic reference in its field.
