Tasks of the deanship
- Distributing the incoming regulations, instructions, and directives issued by the university presidency to the deanship's departments and its affiliated committees.
- Supervising and coordinating all postgraduate programs at the university, and recommending their approval, evaluation and permanent review.
- Proposing or amending the general policy for postgraduate studies, coordinating it in all faculties and institutes of the university, and following up its implementation after its approval.
- Proposing internal regulations, in coordination with the scientific departments, regarding the organization of postgraduate studies.
- Suggesting admission bases for postgraduate studies, implementing and supervising them.
- Recommend approval of the new programs after studying them and coordinating them with the existing programs.
- Recommending the approval of postgraduate courses, and any changes or changes to them or programs.
- Recommending the names of higher degrees in both Arabic and English based on the recommendation of the college councils.
- Recommending the awarding of scientific degrees.
- Deciding on all student affairs related to postgraduate students at the university.
- Approving the formation of supervision committees and discussing scientific theses.
- Establishing the general framework for the research plan, and the rules governing how to write a scientific thesis, print it, produce it, and present it, and forms for the reports of the discussion committee and judge theses.
- Evaluating postgraduate programs at the university on a regular basis, by specialized committees or bodies from inside or outside the university.
- Studying the periodic reports submitted by the scientific departments at the university.
- Considering matters referred to it by the university council, its president, or the university rector for study and expressing an opinion.
