Number of hours:

The number of hours prescribed for the doctoral stage is (60) study hours.

Study System:

Studying in the doctoral program is in one of two tracks: 

(the scientific thesis is compulsory in both track).

First track: the course track with the thesis:

In this track, the student studies two semesters, with an average of five courses per semester, then begin with the scientific thesis project.

Courses Track and Thesis

Note: The number of thesis pages in this track is not less than 200 pages.

Second track: the thesis track only:

This track shall be in accordance with the controls shown below.

A doctoral student can proceed to the thesis track only without studying the courses, if the following conditions are met: 

• His doctoral specialization is compatible with the major he studied at the master's level. 
• The student has studied at the master's level all credit hours in the same major, with at least 30 credit hours.
• The submitted plan should be approved by the department council. 
• The number of thesis pages in this track should not be less than (400) pages.

The maximum and minimum limits for enrolling in courses per semester:

• A doctoral student has the right to enroll in five courses in one semester as a maximum, equivalent to (15) academic hours.
• He/she has also the right to enroll in three courses as a minimum, equivalent to (9) academic hours.
• The student in the courses and thesis track must submit a research plan for his thesis after completing five courses or the equivalent of (15) academic hours.
• The student in the courses and thesis track are required to complete (10) courses or the equivalent of (30) academic hours and he/she must have spent the prescribed period of time in the Ph.D.

Study Duration of the Program:

A student enrolled in a Ph.D. program in both tracks is not entitled to discuss his thesis until at least two years have passed since he received the Acceptance notice to study in this program.
