About the department

The Department of the Prophet’s Sunnah and its Sciences teaches the courses of Hadith, the study of Hadith Terminology, Methods of Hadith Verification and the Study of Chains of Narration , studying chains of narrators, Methods of Hadith scholars, Analytical Hadith, Substantive Hadith, and Hadith Sciences at the master’s level.

That the department be a distinguished scientific center for education, scientific research and community service in the specialty of the Prophet’s Sunnah and its sciences in a way that serves Islam and meets the needs of society according to distinguished programs specialized in teaching and scientific research.

The program aims to prepare graduates who specialize in the Prophet’s Sunnah and its sciences, who are able to distinguish authentic hadiths from their weak ones. The program also aims to prepare the scholar who is well-versed in the field of the Prophet’s Sunnah and what is related, and the researcher specialized in hadith who is able to prepare authentic scientific research, through studying specialized materials in the Department of the Prophet’s Sunnah, and enabling students to highlight and defend the status of the Sunnah, and respond to suspicions raised. It is raised against it by methodological methods and scientific arguments based on evidence.
