Dr. Alaa Hosni Mousa
Department head’s speech
The Department of Judiciary and Sharia Policy is considered one of the important departments in the College of Sharia and Law at the Islamic University of Minnesota - the main center, as its courses vary between legal and Sharia subjects, in a way that forms the judicial character and the inherent awareness of Sharia policy among the students. The department seeks in its vision - emanating from the university’s vision - To leadership and excellence in judicial jurisprudence and Sharia politics, and to qualify students with the necessary competencies to address the calamities of the times in issues of the judiciary and Sharia politics.
The department seeks to achieve its mission of qualifying students to be able to bear the responsibility of working in the field of the judiciary, adjudicating between adversaries, and spreading awareness of the jurisprudence of Sharia politics in Islamic societies.
This can only be achieved by preparing the students in depth in the provisions of judicial jurisprudence and Sharia policy, to achieve their personal values emanating from the teachings of Islam, with a clear progression in the levels of self-awareness and commitment to the provisions of the holy Sharia. It also aims to develop students’ awareness and commitment capabilities through their familiarization with the values and Sharia rulings related to the judiciary and Sharia politics, and qualifying students with behavioral skills and practical knowledge that help them work and strive to rationalize political awareness, and enlighten youth groups to the features of Sharia policy in Islam.
We ask God to bless this academic university edifice, reward its management abundantly, and achieve the goals and objectives of its colleges and departments.
