Dr. Moayad Zaidan
Department head’s speech
In my name and on behalf of my fellow faculty members in the Law Department...
I welcome you to the Islamic University of Minnesota, College of Sharia and Law, Department of Law. Studying law is of great importance because it regulates the relationships in society regardless of its parties. The law department is concerned with teaching law subjects in both its public and private sections. These relations may be between a state and a state or between a state and an individual, and this is what is clarified through public law materials, and they may be between individuals and each other. The details of this will be in the private law articles, taking into account the comparison and rooting of the provisions of Islamic Sharia, emanating from the vision of the College of Sharia and Law, which is affiliated with the Islamic University of Minnesota.
The Law Department includes distinguished elite law professors from various nationalities who have teaching experience, deep research ability, and the ability to use modern technology, who form a comprehensive and comparative legal culture that contributes to building students’ legal awareness.
The study qualifies students in the Law Department to work in the legal profession, the judiciary, arbitration, and legal affairs in governmental bodies and institutions as well as private sector companies. Thus, they are able to analyze the legal text and apply it, while providing them with the skills and basics that raise and develop their abilities so that they are qualified to enter the realm of practical life with an informed mind and a strong forearm. Which makes them the best ambassadors for the Islamic University of Minnesota.
