The most important tasks:
- Studying the minutes of the college councils that are received from His Excellency the Rector of the University.
- Studying the records of the various councils at the university, such as the Scientific Council, the Graduate Studies Council, and others.
- Studying the minutes of the various committees that come to the administration for study and expressing a formal opinion on the decisions and recommendations that have been taken.
- Reviewing regulations, agreements and contracts received by the Legal Department in terms of procedures and wording.
- Drafting decisions and circulars that His Excellency the University Rector or Vice-Chancellors instruct the administration to prepare.
- Representing the university before the Board of Grievances, judicial authorities, and others in matters to which the university is a party.
- Preparing the necessary memos for the university's defense before the Board of Grievances and other judicial authorities in cases filed against the university.
- Studying the powers delegated by university officials to their subordinates to show the extent of their regularity.
- Regular review of memorandums presented to the University Council and the Council of Higher Education upon request.
- Participate in the disciplinary investigation committees conducted with university employees upon request.
- Examining what is attributed to the university's employees in deviating from the rules, regulations, and instructions, and expressing an opinion.
- Carrying out any other tasks entrusted to the Department by the holder of powers and within the scope of its competence.
- Preparing applied interpretation of laws and regulations upon request.
