It is my pleasure to welcome you to the page of the Department of Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers, a department that carries a distinguished academic and educational mission aimed at promoting the Arabic language globally and preparing specialized professionals capable of teaching it in accordance with the latest theories and best practices in the field of language education.
In response to the growing global demand for learning Arabic, the department offers a comprehensive academic pathway that begins with a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers, designed for students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The program aims to enable learners to achieve advanced proficiency in Arabic. This pathway continues with Master’s and Ph.D. programs specializing in the preparation of Arabic language teachers for non-native speakers. Together, these programs seek to prepare educators and researchers who possess deep linguistic competence, applied pedagogical expertise, and the ability to work effectively in multicultural educational environments.
At the Bachelor’s level, we are committed to building a solid academic foundation in Arabic language teaching and applied linguistics, alongside practical training in modern teaching strategies, instructional materials design, and the integration of digital technologies in language education. We also provide supervised field training opportunities that allow students to practice teaching in real educational settings under specialized academic guidance.
At the Master’s level, students engage in advanced study of second language acquisition, error analysis, assessment and evaluation, and curriculum design, with a strong emphasis on applied research addressing real-world issues in the field of Arabic language teaching. The program aims to prepare academic supervisors and specialized trainers who contribute to the advancement of this discipline.
At the doctoral level, the department focuses on preparing researchers and experts capable of contributing to the development of theories and methodologies, leading research initiatives, and participating in the formulation of educational policies related to the global teaching of Arabic, thereby strengthening its presence and status among world languages.
