An overview of the department
The Department of Jurisprudence and its Principles is one of the main departments within the departments of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, and it is scheduled to be studied for postgraduate students in its two stages (Master’s and PhD).
The Department of Jurisprudence and its Fundamentals seeks to teach jurisprudence and fundamentalism subjects for the master's and doctoral levels, and to produce manuscript books of distinguished scientific value, and to graduate researchers specialized in Sharia sciences, aiming to graduate science students who are able to look into issues of jurisprudence and its applications in a manner commensurate with the general purposes of Islamic legislation.
The Department of Jurisprudence and its Fundamentals also seeks to build the sound jurisprudential and fundamentalist mind of the student, away from fanaticism and the exclusion of the other, and the four skills were achieves interest and is consistent with the spirit and purposes of Sharia.

Finding a qualified generation in terms of practical jurisprudence, promoting the development of the jurisprudential flair of the student, and providing the labor market with trained jurisprudential cadres in various fields of Islamic calling.

Preparing scientific competencies specialized in the study of jurisprudential issues, and enabling them to deal with the basic sources of Islam according to the origin of correct deduction and applying them in practice in emerging issues
Formatting of the fundamentalist scientific personality of the student of jurisprudence and its principles in higher studies, through which he can understand the opinions of scholars in this science, discuss them, and guide the sayings of scholars in this field
The ability to derive legal rulings from evidence, and to find solutions to emerging facts
Standing on the purposes of the general Sharia, and using them to know the ruling
The scientific application of fundamentalist rules and knowledge of their effects on the difference of jurists
Paying attention to scientific research, applying the rules related to that, and spreading the Islamic heritage left by scholars and directing it according to the accepted rules

Academic Nature of the Major
The program aims to prepare graduates specialized in the field of jurisprudence and its foundations, who are familiar with the most important contemporary jurisprudential issues, and know how to adapt them and derive the rule of Sharia in them, with their readiness to confront contemporary society’s problems in jurisprudential issues with argument and proof. It also prepare meaningful and grounded scientific research.
