Academic Course on the Role of Women in the Abbasid Court

The Historical and Archaeological Studies Unit at the Academic Studies Center, College of Arts and Humanities, at the Islamic University of Minnesota, held a free academic course titled "The Role of Women in the Abbasid Court," delivered by Dr. Sulaf Faydhallah, a faculty member in the Department of History and Archaeology.

The course consisted of four lectures, with the first lecture held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 9:00 PM Mecca time. The second lecture followed on Saturday, September 21, the third on Monday, September 23, and the final lecture concluded on Wednesday, September 25, at the same time.

The course explored the role of women in the Abbasid court, covering various topics such as the categories of women and their influence on economic activities, in addition to their roles in social, administrative, and scientific life during that period.

This course is part of the university's ongoing efforts to promote scientific research and raise awareness of the history of women and their impact on Islamic civilization.
