Friendly Enlightening Meeting for Students

Under the patronage of Dr. Osama Abdulrahman Awaf, the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the College of Arts and Humanities at the Islamic University of Minnesota organized a friendly enlightening meeting for graduate students on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

The meeting was opened by the Deputy Head of the Department, Dr. Ali El-Shboul, who welcomed all participants and then handed the floor to the Head of the Department, Dr. Osama Abdulrahman Awaf. Dr. Awaf expressed his welcome to the faculty members present, including Dr. Sahar Al-Samadhi, Dr. Al-Nasser Zahri, and Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Rousan, as well as the doctoral students and lecturers in the department, Mr. Saeed Mohammed and Mr. Muslim Al-Maliki. He also thanked Ms. Samira Al-Sagheer, the administrative affairs officer at the College of Arts, for her attendance.

The meeting included a presentation by Dr. Imad Ali Al-Khateeb, a faculty member in the department, on how to prepare a scientific research paper for both master's and doctoral degrees. The presentation covered the differences between the research paths approved by the university and the department, and explained the steps for preparing research, starting from topic selection and title formulation to plan preparation.

At the end of the presentation, Dr. Imad answered students' questions, and Dr. Osama Abdulrahman Awaf joined him in addressing inquiries related to administrative conditions, application processes, and the stages leading to the discussion and obtaining the degree.

The meeting lasted about two and a half hours, during which students expressed their gratitude and happiness with the topics discussed, indicating that the meeting reflected the department's interest in their concerns. Finally, Dr. Ali El-Shboul concluded the meeting by thanking the attending faculty members and students, as well as Dr. Imad Al-Khateeb for his excellent presentation, wishing graduate students success in their academic journey.
