Creativity Forum Holds Training Course on "Prosody"

The Creativity Forum at the Islamic University of Minnesota conducted a training course titled "Prosody," led by expert in Arabic language and literature Dr. Muslim Al-Maliki, on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

This course was part of the university's efforts to enhance literary and cultural creativity. Its objectives included introducing participants to the concept of prosody and its importance in constructing poetic texts, providing practical training on correct prosodic writing, distinguishing between prosodic, lyrical, and orthographic writing, understanding the keys to poetic meters and how to activate them in texts, identifying the appropriate meter for poems, and providing an overview of rhyme and its basic letters.

The course consisted of seven lectures, each lasting two hours, held from 5 PM to 7 PM Mecca time. The first lecture was held on April 27, followed by the second on April 29, the third on April 30, the fourth on May 4, the fifth on May 7, the sixth on May 8, and the final lecture on May 6, 2025.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Osama Abdulrahman, Dean of Academic Affairs and Head of the Arabic Language Department, oversaw the course, while Dr. Sahar Al-Samadi, the Cultural Forum Supervisor, managed it.
