Doctorate Awarded to Researcher Zaid Mohammed Sakran

Following a public discussion session held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 9:00 PM Mecca time, the committee decided to award researcher Zaid Mohammed Saleh Sakran a doctorate for his thesis titled "The History of the Umayyad State from the Book of Kanz Al-Akhbar in Knowledge of Biographies and News" authored by Imad Al-Din Idris ibn Ali ibn Abdullah Al-Hamzi.

The discussion was conducted under the supervision of the Deanship of Graduate Studies at Minnesota Islamic University, within the Department of History and Islamic Civilization, College of Arts and Humanities. The discussion committee consisted of Associate Professor Dr. Siham Abdulbaqi, Head of the Department of History and Antiquities, as Chair; Professor Dr. Shibl Ibrahim Shibl, faculty member, as Supervisor and Rapporteur; Dr. Karima Omar Mohammed Salim, faculty member, as Internal Discussant; and Dr. Aya Mohammed Helmi Al-Jundi, faculty member, as External Discussant.

This discussion is part of the university's efforts to support scientific research and enhance graduate studies in the fields of history and Islamic civilization.
