Launch of Book "Artistic Formation in Works of Bahaa Taher"

Under the joint patronage of the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, the Islamic University of Minnesota, the Mahmoud Abu Awad Cultural Foundation, and the Al-Ashiyat Forum for Literature and Arts, the Jordan National Library hosted the launch of the book "Artistic Formation in Works of Bahaa Taher" by critic Dr. Mai Khaled Baklizi, a faculty member at the university, published by Yafa Scientific Publishing and Distribution, on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

The event was attended by the Jordanian Minister of Culture, Mr. Mustafa Rawashdeh, and featured active participation from Dr. Imad Ahmed Al-Khatib, Director of the Conferences and Scientific Seminars Department and a faculty member at the university, along with Dr. Sahar Al-Samadi, also a faculty member.

Dr. Imad Al-Khatib began his remarks by conveying the greetings of the university leadership and the academic and administrative staff to the audience. He then presented his own reading of the book, focusing on "Iconology in Literary Discourse Analysis." Dr. Sahar Al-Samadi played an effective role in overseeing the event, and at its conclusion, she distributed certificates of appreciation to the participants, endorsed by the university.

In a related context, Dr. Zainab Ali Basyouni, Deputy Dean of the university, congratulated Dr. Mai Baklizi on this achievement, describing it as "a solid critical work that enriches the literary scene and illuminates an important aspect of the Arab narrative experience." She expressed her hope that Dr. Mai Baklizi would remain "a critical pen that stimulates reading and deepens vision."

Regarding the event, the Deputy Dean stated that it "reflects the university's celebration of serious thought and the efforts of researchers who contribute to building cultural and aesthetic awareness." Dr. Basyouni also expressed her gratitude to Dr. Imad Al-Khatib and Dr. Sahar Al-Samadi for their "active participation and distinguished efforts that had a clear impact on enriching the celebration."

It is noteworthy that Dr. Mai Baklizi received additional special recognition from the Islamic University of Minnesota, represented by a (university shield), according to a video clip shown during the event.
