The Training and Development Center, in collaboration with the College of Arts and Humanities at the Islamic University of Minnesota and Yarmouk University in Jordan, held a training course entitled "Research Ethics" on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

The course was presented by Dr. Sahar Al-Samedi from the Islamic University of Minnesota and Dr. Rana Al-Samedi from Yarmouk University. It ran from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM Mecca time.

The course aimed to reinforce concepts of honesty and integrity in research, introduce participants to key ethical violations, and train students on ethical handling of data and samples. It also addressed the requirements for approval from ethical committees and promoted scientific responsibility among researchers.

The course covered several important topics, including an introduction to the philosophy of research ethics, scientific integrity, plagiarism, protecting participants' rights, data confidentiality standards, data manipulation and its impact on results, and ethical responsibility in publishing and authorship. Additionally, it included case studies and ethical decision-making.

This course is the second in the first training program "Research Skills," following a course titled "How to Choose a Research Problem," which was delivered by Dr. Suhair Al-Khalil on July 22, 24, and 27, 2025.
