Academic Visit of Dr. Ismail Hamed

Professor Dr. Ismail Hamid Ismail, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at the Islamic University of Minnesota, conducted a research academic visit to the Sultanate of Oman from July 25 to August 10, 2025.
The visit included the Oman National Archives and university libraries, as part of Dr. Ismail's mission to study ancient Islamic manuscripts and documents. This visit is part of his scientific project, in which he has invested many years of historical writing.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Ismail Hamed has extensive scholarly activity and distinguished research, having published dozens of books, papers, and peer-reviewed studies in various fields, especially in the history of Islamic civilization and the history of Islam in sub-Saharan Africa. He is also interested in the ancient history of Oman and its relations with the East African coastal countries, as well as the Omani role in establishing many Arab kingdoms and sultanates along the East African coast, such as the Sultanate of Zanzibar. Dr. Ismail is considered one of the leading scholars in these fields.
