University Provost Appoints Dr. Bushra Sharif as Head of Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Doctor Omar Ahmed Al-Maqrami, the Deputy of the Islamic University of Minnesota and Head of the main center, issued a decision on Monday, June 16, 2025, appointing Dr. Bushra Abrar Sharif as the Head of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in the College of Computer Science and Information Technology.

In her response to congratulatory messages received on the occasion of her appointment, Dr. Bushra expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the deans, department heads, and faculty members, asking God for success, guidance, sincerity, and excellence in all matters.

Additionally, the university administration, represented by the Deputy University Provost, Dr. Zainab Basyouni, thanked the previous department head, Dr. Mohammed Habib Al-Samkari, for his "outstanding contributions and wise management over the past period." The Deputy Provost added, "We ask Allah to reward you with the best and to bless your knowledge and work, and to grant you success in future endeavors, always serving as a model of competence and dedication."

Furthermore, the Deanship of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology honored Dr. Al-Samkari with a certificate of appreciation signed by the Dean, Dr. Muneer Abdulbari, and stamped with the college seal.
