Appointment of Dr. Dhia'a Al-Haq as Head of Computer Department
Minnesota, United States - The Chancellor of the Islamic University of Minnesota, Head of the Main Center, issued a decision appointing Dr. Dhiaa Al-Haq Issa as the head of the Computer Science Department at the new College of Computer Science and Information Technology.
Dr. Dhiaa Al-Haq is a graduate of Kordofan University in Sudan, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering in 2003 with high honors. He also earned a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Khartoum in 2009, and completed his Ph.D. at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea in 2022.
Dhiaa Al-Haq has worked as a teaching assistant and lecturer at Kordofan University from 2003 to 2010, and has also collaborated with several other Sudanese universities. In 2010, he joined the College of Engineering at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, where he held several important administrative positions, including chairing academic and college-specific committees, as well as membership in the Accreditation Board for Engineering Programs (ABET), the Laboratory and Workshop Committee, and the Examinations Committee.
He also served as an assistant professor at the Higher Institute for Energy and Water in 2022 until 2023, and collaborated with several institutes within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has extensive experience in the areas of academia, quality assurance, and accreditation in higher education, as he is a certified trainer for several training courses inside and outside the Kingdom.
Dr. Dhiaa resume includes more than six published scientific papers in reputable international journals in the field of engineering sciences. His appointment as the Chair of the new Computer Science Department at the Islamic University in Minnesota is an important step towards developing academic programs and promoting scientific research in this advanced field.
Dhiaa Al-Haq is expected to achieve great success in leading the new department, given his excellent academic qualifications and extensive practical experience.
