Council of College of Computing Holds Meeting

The Council of the College of Computing and Information Technology at the Islamic University of Minnesota – Main Center, held a meeting on Monday, January 6, 2025, chaired by Dr. Muneer Abdulbari Abdulfattah, Dean of the College and Chairman of the Council. The meeting was attended by the University Vice President, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, his deputy, Dr. Zainab Basiouni, Dr. Nourhan Salama, Dean of Faculty Affairs, along with several department heads and administrative staff.

During the meeting, which took place at 10:00 PM Mecca time, discussions focused on the progress of the educational process and several important decisions were made to ensure the continuity and improvement of education quality. Key points addressed included ensuring the completion of missed lectures, providing solutions for delayed students, implementing an electronic examination system to enhance assessment efficiency, and improving the mechanism for handling student complaints effectively.

The meeting concluded with several important recommendations, most notably:

  1. Enhancing the teaching staff by appointing new professors to improve educational quality.
  2. Utilizing innovative educational technologies and applying modern technology in the educational process.
  3. Providing training courses for faculty members to develop their skills and enhance their performance.
  4. Improving the educational process overall to boost quality and efficiency.
  5. Implementing modern educational technologies to enhance the student learning experience.

Also in attendance were Dr. Salah Alawi, Vice Dean of the College and Head of the Networks and Cybersecurity Department, Dr. Saleh Al-Riyashi, Head of the Management Information Systems Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Habib Al-Samkari, Head of the Data and Artificial Intelligence Department, Dr. Yasser Al-Malik, Head of the Computer Science Department, and administrative affairs representatives led by Ms. Hanadi Abdullah.

This meeting is part of the university’s efforts to keep pace with technological advancements and ensure the provision of high-quality education that meets student needs and aligns with modern requirements.
