College of Media Sets Ambitious Plans to Develop Its Financial Resources
Professor Abdel Salam Al-Wahati, Dean of the College of Media at the Islamic University of Minnesota, held a meeting with the faculty members of the college on Friday, July 5, 2024, in preparation for the start of the first semester of the new academic year. The meeting discussed several important topics aimed at developing the college's financial resources, improving the educational process, and providing better services to students.Professor Al-Wahati stressed the importance of developing the college's financial resources, indicating that the college will work to implement several plans to achieve this, including:
- Involving those who hold the degree of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in supervising master's and doctoral dissertations and discussions.
- Establishing a training center that offers training courses and workshops for inside and outside the university at reduced fees.
- Holding international scientific conferences at low fees for researchers from inside and outside the university.
- Issuing a refereed scientific journal to publish research by faculty members and researchers from different countries of the world.
- Establishing a center for scientific research and consultancy that provides statistical analysis and database services to graduate students, and provides consultations and investment research projects for external institutions and entities.
- Preparing programs to launch accredited professional diplomas for those wishing to develop their skills from inside and outside the university.
Professor Al-Wahati emphasized the importance of adhering to lecture schedules, indicating that the college has developed a plan to avoid the absence of some professors due to internet outages. He also stressed the need to continue the approach of giving and enthusiasm to improve the educational process.
The meeting witnessed wide participation from the faculty members, where they presented many valuable proposals aimed at developing the college and improving the educational process. Among these proposals are:
- Implementing cooperation protocols with research bodies to conduct joint research and books.
- Assisting students in graduation projects and supplementary research for students in the course track in the master's and doctoral programs.
- Conducting media and advertising campaigns to attract students who wish to join the field of media.
- Creating a digital question bank that benefits professors financially.
- Building partnerships with international institutions and organizations in the field of journalism and media.
Professor Al-Wahati expressed his thanks to the professors for their valuable proposals, indicating that he will strive to implement these proposals as much as possible, wishing everyone success and success.
