College of Media Welcomes New Students

MINNESOTA, July 13, 2024:  In line with its commitment to connect with its students, the College of Media at the Islamic University of Minnesota organized an open dialogue with the Dean of the College, Professor Abdulsalam Al-Wahati, on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

This initiative aimed to introduce new students to the college, its academic and administrative staff, as well as to discuss their needs closely and receive their suggestions.

Professor Al-Wahaiti opened the dialogue by thanking Professor Walid Al-Munisi, President of the University, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, Vice President of the University, and Professor Abdulkarim Al-Wazzan, former Dean of the College. He then welcomed the attendees, including students, faculty members, and staff.

The Dean expressed his happiness at this meeting, which brought him together with new and returning students, and provided them with an overview of the college and the academic programs it offers.

Professor Al-Wahati emphasized that the purpose of the dialogue was to understand the students' concerns and work with the University Council to facilitate and overcome any administrative or academic obstacles they may face, in accordance with the regulations and systems. He pointed out that we all work as an educational system for the benefit of the students and to provide the best educational service.

He commended the efforts of the faculty members who dedicate themselves to their students and urged them to do more, so that the college maintains the prestigious position it has achieved among its peers. He added that this goal can only be achieved by adopting modern teaching methods that engage students, working to achieve the college's goals that were set to keep pace with the times, ensuring attendance at lectures, and encouraging students to attend seminars and participate in workshops and training courses.

During the dialogue, the Dean answered a number of questions from the students, covering various topics related to academic and administrative matters.

Professor Al-Wahati also listened to the remarks of Professor Hanan Sobhi Obaid and several other professors. He also listened to the students' opinions and suggestions regarding some problems related to the university and their studies. Discussions were held with the students about the most important issues and developments within the college.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Al-Wahati thanked the attendees for their participation and suggestions, emphasizing that they are of great interest to the college and university administration. The students expressed their satisfaction with the clarity and transparency
