Al-Wahati Issues Series of Decisions to Foster Excellence and Creativity
Professor Abdulsalam Al-Wahati, Dean of the College of Media at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, has issued a series of decisions aimed at enhancing the educational process within the college and promoting excellence and creativity among students and faculty members. These decisions include the appointment of several new academic leaders to key positions, with the goal of advancing educational programs and encouraging innovation and scientific research.
The Dean's decisions included the restructuring of the College Council and the Advisory Council, and the appointment of a select group of faculty members to leadership positions. Dr. Hanadi Al-Saeed has been appointed as Director of Public Relations at the Dean’s Office, Dr. Jihad Mustafa as Assistant to the Head of the Media Department for the Bachelor’s Program, and Dr. Mohammed Mokhtar Al-Talkhawi as Assistant to the Head of the Graduate Studies Department.
Professor Al-Wahati emphasized that these decisions are part of a comprehensive strategic vision aligned with the university’s methodology, stressing the importance of keeping pace with scientific and technological advancements, and increasing efforts to enhance the college’s and university’s standing internationally. He urged the newly appointed leaders to fully comply with the university’s laws and regulations and to work towards achieving tangible results that will contribute to maintaining the college’s and university’s excellence in all academic, administrative, and research fields.
Al-Wahati also highlighted that the selection of the new leaders was based on their experience and academic expertise, noting that these appointments will contribute to improving the quality of education and developing the college’s research programs.
In a related context, Professor Al-Wahati presided over an extensive meeting with faculty members to discuss proposals from postgraduate students (Master’s and PhD), during which several professors were assigned to supervise students’ theses, ensuring fairness in the distribution of tasks among academic advisors according to academic and specialization standards.
The meeting resulted in the acceptance of proposals from eight PhD students and one Master’s student, in addition to the appointment of 13 academic advisors from the faculty. The Dean stressed that the selection of academic advisors was based on their distinguished expertise and academic specializations, praising their role in fostering innovation and advancing scientific research within the college.
At the close of the meeting, Professor Al-Wahati expressed his gratitude to the university leadership for their continuous support of postgraduate students, commending their efforts in facilitating academic tasks and contributing to the development of scientific research at the university.
