Scientific Lecture on “Foundational Jurisprudence in Linguistic Roots”
As part of the “Minbar of the Da’wah Center and the College of Islamic Studies for Knowledge and Guidance” program, organized by the Da’wah Center in collaboration with the College of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota – Main Center, a distinguished scientific lecture was held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, titled “Foundational Jurisprudence in Linguistic Roots”, presented by Dr. Babker Mahmoud via the Zoom platform, with a notable audience of university students and interested participants from around the world.
The lecture was part of the program’s ongoing series of academic and da’wah activities under the inspiring slogan: “Knowledge that guides hearts… and guidance that enlightens minds,” reflecting the university’s mission to combine authentic Islamic knowledge with contemporary thought, and to cultivate a conscious generation of students who are well-versed in religion while actively engaging with contemporary challenges.
During the lecture, Dr. Babker provided a thorough and insightful presentation highlighting the importance of linguistic foundations in understanding Sharia texts and deriving legal rulings, emphasizing that the integration of language and jurisprudence forms a solid basis for building an Islamic mindset capable of comprehending the objectives and wisdom of Sharia with depth and accuracy.
