Islamic University Holds Seminar to Discuss Research Plan on Role of Non-Profit Sector in Youth Development

The Islamic University of Minnesota, USA, organized a scientific seminar on the evening of Sunday, January 11, 2026, via the virtual platform "Zoom" to discuss a research plan for a PhD student. The plan investigates the impact of the non-profit sector on developing youth human capital and its relation to sustainable development.

The event was coordinated by the Deanship of Graduate Studies, the College of Developmental Studies, and the Department of Development Management and Strategic Planning at the university.

The session focused on discussing the research plan submitted by the researcher, doctoral student Mohsin Ali Noor Elmi, titled "The Role of the Non-Profit Sector in Developing Youth Human Capital and Its Impact on Sustainable Development: An Applied Study on the Qimam Youth Association (2019-2024)."

The study aims to analyze the contribution of non-profit sector organizations to developing youth skills and capabilities and to assess the resulting impact on achieving sustainable development goals. This is pursued through an applied case study on the "Qimam Youth Association" over five years, seeking to provide an analytical model that can be utilized in designing development policies and programs.

The seminar committee was chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Yusuf Mohammed Faleh Bani Younis, Head of the Department of Development Management and Strategic Planning and the supervisor of the research plan. The committee also included Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Jabali and Dr. Iman Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Jundi.

The committee discussed with the researcher the main aspects of the plan, including its objectives, adopted methodological framework, and data collection tools, providing him with a set of scientific observations and recommendations to enhance the quality of his research project towards its final version.

The session was held at 9:00 PM Mecca time and witnessed distinguished academic attendance, including a number of faculty members, graduate students, and individuals interested in development and strategic planning fields.
