Head of Economics Department Holds First Meeting
The Head of the Department of Economics and Islamic Banking at the College of Economics and Business Administration at the Islamic University of Minnesota, Dr. Hiyam Al-Zou'bi, held the first departmental meeting on Monday, November 18, 2024. The meeting aimed to discuss the department's preparations for the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Hiyam welcomed the faculty members, especially the newcomers, and expressed her gratitude to the veteran members for their efforts during the first semester. She addressed several important points related to introducing the department and the study system, the necessity of adhering to lecture schedules, compensating for missed lectures when needed, as well as the importance of preparing summaries for courses and enhancing research among graduate students.
Dr. Hiyam also emphasized the department's readiness to welcome the second semester and opened the floor for faculty members to present their proposals and discuss inquiries. The meeting concluded with a reiteration of thanks to attendees, highlighting the importance of collaboration and participation in supporting the educational journey.
