Training Center Hosts Course on Empowering Employees During Change Phases

The Training and Development Center at the Islamic University of Minnesota organized a training course titled "Empowering Employees During Change Phases," delivered by Dr. Shaimaa Adel Tantawi. The course consisted of two lectures, with the first held on Thursday, July 17, and the second on Sunday, July 20, 2025, each lasting two hours from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Makkah time).

The course aimed to build a culture of empowerment that supports employees during transformations, teach strategies to enhance self-confidence and competence, develop internal guidance and self-motivation skills, empower employees to take responsibility during change, and reduce resistance to change while promoting engagement.

The curriculum covered the concept of empowerment and its role in change management, internal motivation and delegation of roles and responsibilities, positive accountability as a tool for empowerment, training methods accompanying change, building employee participation programs, and measuring the impact of empowerment on transformation outcomes, including case studies of successful institutional empowerment.

The course targeted human resources officials, leaders and direct supervisors, and departments involved in organizational development, as part of the first training program on "Organizational Change Management," organized by the center in collaboration with the College of Economics and Business.
