Deanship of Graduate Studies Organizes Virtual Academic Seminar Via Zoom Platform

The Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota organized a virtual academic seminar via the "Zoom" platform on the evening of Monday, January 12, 2026, to discuss a doctoral research plan examining the impact of digital transformation on the effectiveness of the social economy and charitable work.

The event was held in cooperation with the College of Economics and Business Administration and the Department of Islamic Economics and Banking. It focused on the research plan submitted by the researcher, doctoral student Eid Ramadan Mohammed Hassan, titled "The Role of Digital Technologies in Enhancing the Efficiency of the Social Economy: An Applied Study on the 'Ihsan' Platform in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2020–2025)."

The research plan aims to analyze the impact created by electronic platforms, such as the "Ihsan" platform, on improving the efficiency and mechanisms of the social economy, and enhancing transparency and effectiveness in the charitable and developmental sector. By analyzing the experience of the leading Saudi platform over five years, the study seeks to provide a model that can be utilized to improve the digital management of resources and donations, and drive sustainable development.

The seminar committee was chaired by Dr. Zayed Nawaf Al-Duwayri, Head of the Department of Islamic Economics and Banking. The committee included Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Mohammed as an academic advisor, Dr. Emad Adnan Matyouri, and Dr. Umayma Ali Sheikh Al-Din Nour.

The members discussed with the researcher the main aspects of his plan, covering its objectives, methodological framework, and research tools. They provided him with a set of scientific observations and valuable guidance to assist him in developing his research project and refining it into its final form.

The session was held at 9:00 PM Mecca time and was attended by a number of faculty members, graduate students, and individuals interested in the fields of Islamic and social economics, reflecting the university's commitment to promoting applied research and keeping pace with the latest digital transformations affecting the economy and development sectors.
