Appointment of Dr. Youssef Bani Younes as Head of Development Studies Department

The Vice President of the Islamic University of Minnesota, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, has issued a decision appointing Dr. Youssef Mohammed Bani Younes as the Head of the Development Studies Department at the College of Development Studies, succeeding Dr. Mohammed Ali Abdulaziz. This decision was made on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

Dr. Youssef Bani Younes holds an equivalency certificate for his PhD from the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education (Philosophy in History, 2012), as well as a PhD in Philosophy in History from Al-Zaeem Al-Azhari University in Khartoum, with honors (2011). His thesis was titled "Jordan's Philosophy in Containing and Resolving the Iraqi Refugee Crisis (2003-2007)." He also obtained a Master's degree in Philosophy of Modern and Contemporary History from St. Clements University (2005) and another Master's degree from Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan (2008).

Dr. Youssef Bani Younes has taught at the Royal Police Academy in collaboration with Al-Mutah University from 2010 to 2014, covering subjects such as Philosophy of Human Rights and National Education Philosophy. He has also taught at the German-Arab University of Science and Technology online.

Among his notable works is "The Historical Encyclopedia of the Russo-Ukrainian War," consisting of 17 volumes, registered in the Jordanian National Library, and the book "The Philosophy of Jordan's Role in Containing and Solving the Iraqi Refugee Crisis," published by Noor Publishing in Germany.

In a related context, former department head Dr. Mohammed Ali Abdulaziz congratulated Dr. Youssef Bani Younes, praising his initiatives and efforts. The university administration also awarded Dr. Abdulaziz a certificate of appreciation for his exceptional contributions and efforts in enhancing the department and ensuring the success of the educational process.
