Quranic Recitation Center Launches Course on "Mastery in Quranic Tajweed"

The Quranic Recitation Center (Women) at the Islamic University of Minnesota has announced the launch of the course "Mastery in Quranic Tajweed" (Explanation of Al-Jazariyah), designated for "Students of Mastery and Excellence in the Path of the Quran."

The course is presented by the expert and scholar, Ms. Iman Al-Duraini, under the supervision of Dr. Hadeel Mohammed Abdulaziz Afifi, the director of the Quranic Recitation Center. The course was inaugurated on Tuesday, 6 Muharram 1447 AH, corresponding to July 1, 2025, at 8:15 PM Mecca time, and will be held every Tuesday at the same time.

The program, described as unique and exceptional, aims to master the rules of Tajweed and obtain a recognized certification in Al-Jazariyah. It is distinguished by its combination of theoretical depth in explaining Al-Jazariyah and practical application from the first verses of the Mus'haf, with a methodology that prepares students, by God's grace, to attain certification.

The registration announcement specifies that the student should have memorized approximately half of the Quran, be committed to weekly attendance and active participation, recite Al-Jazariyah in full by the end of the course, pass both theoretical and practical exams, and embody the manners and ethics of students of knowledge.

Participants in the course will receive a certified license in the narration and understanding of Al-Jazariyah, documented by the university (including printing and shipping fees), along with strong academic training that enhances their confidence in teaching Tajweed in the future.
