Strategic Meeting to Enhance Scientific Research

As part of its efforts to promote scientific research, the Research Unit at the Islamic University of Minnesota held an extensive meeting chaired by Dr. Shaimaa Khattab, the director of the unit, with the editorial board of the "Journal of Arts and Humanities" and the advisory committee of the journal, along with the heads of academic departments in the College of Arts and Humanities.
The meeting was led by Prof. Abdulbaqi Al-Qattan, the editor-in-chief of the journal, who proposed allocating a dedicated space in upcoming issues of the journal to showcase the latest scientific publications from the college’s departments, including books, published research, and approved dissertations, under the supervision of the Research Unit.
After thorough discussions, the meeting resulted in several key recommendations, including:
1. Establishing new sections to include Arabic and foreign research, articles, reports, translated book reviews, and historical documents.
2. Launching a special section for scientific translations and research in various languages by faculty and doctoral students.
3. Publishing the journal biannually to allow sufficient time for gathering and reviewing scientific content.
4. Implementing strict quality control measures that include standards for scientific research and the novelty of topics.
5. Activating the role of scientific activity committees in departments to sort and categorize research works.
The Research Unit emphasized that these steps are part of the university's strategy to enhance its local and international standing, support outstanding scientific production, and document the achievements of faculty members and students, contributing to knowledge dissemination and expanding academic horizons.
Several prominent academic figures attended the meeting, including Prof. Abdulbaqi Al-Qattan, Dr. Mohammed Ithamna, Dr. Sahar Al-Samedi, Prof. Sulaf Faid Allah, Dr. Sihem Abdulbaqi, Prof. Khaled Atiyah, and Mr. Anas Ahmed Al-Sayyar.
