Quality and Development Unit Holds Workshop on Artificial Intelligence

The Quality and Development Unit, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, organized a training workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence and ChatGPT and Their Role in Scientific Research” on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Hisham Al-Shakhshir, a certified trainer at the Crown Prince Foundation in Jordan, and moderated by Dr. Fatima Jumaa Al-Wahsh, Director of the Quality and Development Unit. It targeted graduate students as well as senior students working on graduation projects and supplementary research. Participants were introduced to the latest AI technologies and their applications in research, and learned how ChatGPT can be utilized to facilitate theses and graduation projects.

At the end of the workshop, attendees received university-accredited certificates.

It is noteworthy that this workshop was organized in response to recent discussions among university faculty members on the applications of AI in education and their relation to exam evaluation and student assignments-discussions that had previously been covered in Sada Al-Jami’a newspaper (Issue No. 32) in a two-page feature.
