English Language and Translation Departments Hold Joint Meeting
MINNESOTA, USA - November 7, 2025 - The Department of English Language and Literature and the Department of English Language and Translation at the College of Arts and Humanities, Islamic University of Minnesota, held a joint academic meeting yesterday evening, Thursday, chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Khalid Al-Shahawi. The meeting aimed to unify visions and develop the academic performance of both departments.
Attended by a distinguished group of faculty members, the meeting focused on strategic areas, including updating course descriptions, accelerating the completion of specialized textbooks for the departments, and discussing solutions to academic challenges.
The meeting resulted in a set of important recommendations, most notably the formation of working groups to follow up on textbook authoring and an emphasis on governing the educational process by exclusively using the university portal for submitting student assignments. The attendees also praised the noticeable improvement in placement tests, stressing the continuation of efforts to raise the quality of educational outcomes.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Al-Shahawi emphasized that this integration "represents a fundamental pillar in developing academic performance and elevating the quality of education" at the university.
