Language and Translation Center Concludes Sixth C2-Level Spanish Course
The Language and Translation Center at the Islamic University of Minnesota – Main Center announced the completion of its sixth C2-level Spanish course on Monday, November 10, 2025. This level represents the highest and final stage within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), marking a significant academic achievement in the center’s mission to train learners according to the highest international standards.
Dr. Ali El-Shboul, Director of the center, stated, “Since the inception of our programs, the center has ensured that students have access to all levels of Spanish, from A1 and A2, through B1 and B2, to C1, and finally C2, achieving comprehensive linguistic and practical proficiency.” He emphasized that this systematic progression reflects the center’s vision of building full language competence among learners.
Dr. El-Shboul also noted that the program’s beneficiaries include postgraduate students studying in Spain at the doctoral and master’s levels, in addition to a distinguished group of doctoral and master’s degree holders from various academic disciplines. He highlighted that “the diversity of academic backgrounds enriched the program and fostered high-level intellectual engagement.”
The director further announced that an official graduation ceremony for this cohort will be held at a later date, with guests from Spanish-speaking countries, in recognition of the participants’ efforts and accomplishments. He affirmed that “this success would not have been possible without the generous support and continuous backing of the university administration, which provided all necessary conditions for the success of these distinguished programs.”
This achievement aligns with the mission of the Language and Translation Center to develop specialized linguistic competencies, enhance the university’s international academic presence, and broaden opportunities for scientific and cultural engagement with Spanish-speaking communities.
