Rakha Earns Ph.D. in Quran and its Sciences

Islam Ahmed Mohammed Rakha, a researcher from the Department of the Holy Quran and its Sciences at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, has successfully completed his doctoral studies in the field of the Quran and its Sciences. The achievement was marked by a public defense session organized by the Deanery of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center. The session focused on the dissertation titled "The Commentary of Ibn Al-Tamjid on the Lights of Revelation and the Secrets of Interpretation" by the renowned scholar Mustafa bin Ibrahim Al-Mashhour, commonly known as Ibn Al-Tamjid. The study and analysis specifically covered verses 6 to 19 of Surah Al-Baqarah.

The examining committee comprised esteemed scholars, including Dr. Imad Qadri Al-Ayadhi, Head of the Manuscripts Department at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, who served as the supervisor; Dr. Amina Hamid Musa, Head of the Holy Quran and its Sciences Department at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, acted as the chairperson. Additionally, Dr. Abdulrazzaq Al-Bakri, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, participated as an internal examiner, while Dr. Tariq Al-Khawalda, Dean of the Higher Institute for Imams and Preachers in Minnesota, served as an external examiner.
