Prof. Ismail Hamed Participates in International Conference

On March 5th, Professor Dr. Ismail Hamed Ismail, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the Islamic University of Minnesota, embarked on a scientific visit to Kuwait. He received an official invitation from the 10th conference of the Center for Mamluk Studies, affiliated with the University of Chicago. The conference was hosted by the Islamic Antiquities House in Kuwait with the support of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Prof. Ismail participated in the conference with a research paper titled "Aspects of Mamluk Architectural Influences in West Africa: The Seat of Sultan Mansa Musa in Mali as a Model." He delivered a lecture in English, which was well-received by the conference participants, the majority of whom were from Western countries.

In addition to his participation in the conference, Dr. Ismail was hosted by the Cultural Committee of the Department of History and Antiquities at the College of Arts, Kuwait University. There, he delivered a scientific lecture titled "Islamic Architecture in West Africa: Characteristics and Major Styles."

Dr. Ismail expressed his gratitude to the University of Chicago for organizing this conference in a different country every year, noting that it is one of the leading universities worldwide.

This participation is part of the Islamic University of Minnesota's efforts to enhance cultural and academic exchange with global educational and research institutions.
