Yousra Salama Appointed as Director of Scientific Research

Minnesota, January 5, 2025 – The Vice President of the Islamic University of Minnesota and Head of the Main Center, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami has issued a decision appointing Dr. Yousra Mohamed Salama as the Director of the Scientific Research Unit and the Department of External Relations and International Cooperation. The decision, announced on Sunday, January 5, 2025, came after Dr. Idir Ghaniyat apologized for stepping down due to personal circumstances.
In his remarks on the decision, Dr. Al-Maqrami stated that Dr. Salama’s appointment followed careful deliberations, expressing his confidence in her ability to lead both units with high efficiency. He emphasized that her role in the Scientific Research Unit will involve close collaboration with faculties, departments, and graduate studies, expressing his hope that the university will become "a beacon of scientific research, just as it is in the educational and academic fields."
