Zainab Bassiouni Appointed as Director of Merged Student Affairs Units


 

Dr. Omar Ahmed Al-Maqrami, Vice Rector of the Islamic University of Minnesota, issued a decision to merge the two Student Affairs Units (Undergraduate Student Affairs Unit and Graduate Student Affairs Unit) within the Deanship of Student Affairs. Dr. Zeinab Ali Bassiouni was appointed as the director of the new deanship.

Dr. Zainab Ali Bassiouni holds a PhD in Arabic Language and Literature with excellent grade with first class honors, and a General Diploma in Education with excellent grade with first class honors. She started working at the university as a faculty member in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the College of Arts and Humanities. She then rose to the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, and then became Director of Administrative Affairs of the College of Arts and Humanities. She was also appointed to manage the University's Plans and Curriculum Unit, and then the Financial Department and Secretariat of the Language and Translation Center.

Dr. Zainab received many messages of congratulations and appreciation from academics, administrators and students on the occasion of her appointment to this new position. They expressed confidence in her competence and wished her success.

In a post on a group affiliated with the university on WhatsApp, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami called on Dr. Zainab to reconcile and pay, and support her in carrying the trust and performing the responsibility. He expressed his desire for the Deanship of Student Affairs, under the leadership of Dr. Zainab, to be an umbrella that protects all university students and helps them solve their problems, develop their skills and abilities, and provide them with benefit, scientific progress and academic achievement. He expressed his confidence in the continuation of the vision of success initiated by the previous administration under the leadership of Mr. Suleiman Maqbool and Ms. Halima Mohammed.
