Researcher Reema Al-Talhi Earns Master's Degree


 

Researcher Reema Ali Al-Talhi has obtained a Master's degree in the Holy Quran and its Sciences after successfully defending her thesis in a public session. The session took place on April 25, 2024, at the College of Islamic Studies, Department of the Holy Quran and its Sciences, under the organization of the Graduate Studies Deanship.

Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Youssef Mahmoud, a faculty member at the Islamic University in Minnesota, supervised Reema's research. Her thesis was titled "The Methodology of the Holy Quran in Establishing Gender Identity and Preventing Sexual Deviation - An Objective Exegetical Study of the Story of the People of Lut, peace be upon him, as a Model."

The defense committee was chaired by Dr. Abdulrazzaq Al-Bakri, the Dean of the College of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University in Minnesota. The committee also included other faculty members, with Dr. Yousef Mohammed Hameed Ahmed, a faculty member at the Islamic University in Minnesota, serving as the internal examiner, and Dr. Ayman Sobhi Sadeq, a professor of Tafsir (Quranic Exegesis) and Quranic Sciences at Al-Azhar University, as the external examiner.

Reema Al-Talhi's achievement of a Master's degree reflects her abilities and efforts in the field of the Holy Quran and its Sciences. She hopes that her studies will contribute to a better understanding of the methodology of the Holy Quran and its applications in important issues such as establishing gender identity and preventing sexual deviation.
