Manal Mustafa Holds Meeting with Faculty Members
Dr. Manal Mustafa, the head of the Department of Islamic Studies in English, held a meeting with the faculty members of the department on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. The meeting discussed several important issues concerning the department.
During the meeting, Dr. Manal began by welcoming the attendees and expressing gratitude to the professors for their dedicated efforts. She then addressed some challenges facing the department, including the issue of students unexpectedly withdrawing from courses without prior notice. Solutions were discussed to address these situations in front of the dean, students, and the responsible virtual classrooms scheduling unit. Dr. Manal underscored the importance of avoiding a repetition of such issues and urged the professors to put in extra effort despite the difficulties and challenges.
Furthermore, Dr. Manal emphasized the necessity of adhering to deadlines for curriculum preparation and test preparation, especially in cases of urgent requests. She encouraged professors to prepare content and tests ahead of time and submit them to the responsible department. Additionally, it was highlighted that test questions should be carefully selected, avoiding essay questions as much as possible, due to grading and uploading issues on the online portal. The use of the available test format provided in the prepared course file by the administration was emphasized.
Dr. Manal also stressed the importance of involving all faculty members in teaching future courses. She emphasized the need to deliver lectures on time and adhere to the designated curriculum set by the committees, completing the content within the specified period for the summer semester. The professors were urged to deliver lectures at their scheduled times, even in the absence of students. Dr. Manal called on the university administration to address the issue of unexcused absences.
