Interactive Lecture on Methods of Learning Tajweed and Quranic Recitations
The Development and Quality Unit, in coordination with the Department of the Quran and its Sciences at the College of Islamic Studies, organized an interactive lecture on the methods of learning the science of Tajweed (Quranic recitation rules) and Quranic recitations.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Abdulrazzaq Al-Bakri, and was presented by Dr. Fatima Jumaa Al-Wuhush, the Director of the Development and Quality Unit.
Dr. Al-Bakri began the lecture by explaining the concept of the science of Tajweed and Quranic recitations, then he addressed the methods of learning, explaining the ways in which the Quran is recited, and that the student should first choose the Jazariyyah system.
Al-Bakri touched on the explanations of the Jazariyyah, the most important of which are "Al-Hawashi Al-Mufhimah" and "Al-Manah wal-Fawa'id", and he provided alerts on the Jazariyyah system. He also discussed the Salsabil Al-Shafi system by Sheikh Othman Murad, and recommended studying the Tuhfat Al-Samnudi by Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Samnudi.
Dr. Al-Bakri pointed out the importance of choosing the additional parts for memorization, and explained the memorization approaches in order. He then presented the methods of learning the science of Quranic recitations with their detailed stages, supported by advice and guidance.
Al-Bakri concluded the lecture by providing guidance and instructions for beginner and advanced students, emphasizing that the science of Tajweed is an important gateway to the care of the Quran in terms of contemplation and reflection.
