Researcher Faten Earns PhD in Quranic Studies
MINNESOTA, June 29, 2024 - Moroccan Researcher Faten bint Moulay Idris Bilal has been awarded a PhD in Quranic Studies from the Islamic University of Minnesota, Main Center, after successfully defending her dissertation titled "Collecting the Benefits in the Methods of Imam Nafea' by Abu Abdullah Mohammed ibn Ali Al-Lajai: A Study and Investigation."
The dissertation defense took place during a public session held by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the Islamic University of Minnesota, College of Islamic Studies - Department of Quran and Quranic Sciences, on Saturday, 23rd of Dhul-Hijjah 1445 AH, corresponding to June 29, 2024, at 9:30 PM Makkah time.
The examination committee, which granted the scholar her PhD, consisted of Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Qubaisi, faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota, supervisor and rapporteur, Dr. Ziad Ahmad Al-Hajj, faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota and Head of the Department of Readings at the University of Jannah in Lebanon, internal examiner, and Dr. Moaz Mohammed Al-Sahhaby, Professor of Quran and Quranic Sciences at the Mohammed VI Institute of Readings and Quranic Studies in Rabat, external examiner.
