Islamic University of Minnesota Announces Winners of Annual Quran Comp

Dr. Abdulrazeq Al-Bakri, Dean of the College of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota and the general supervisor of the annual Quran competition (Muqria Al-Jamiah) (University Reciter) , announced the names of the winners in the second edition of the competition on Friday, 15 Sha'ban 1446 AH, corresponding to February 14, 2025.

The announcement was made at the conclusion of a special ceremony organized to honor the winners, with a detailed report on the event published elsewhere. Below is the list of winners along with their nationalities:

Winners in Level One: 

  • First: Abdullah Nasser Saleh Mahmoud Shuqair (Egypt, 17 years old).
  • Second: Mohammed Yaseen Hafiz Abdulraouf (Bangladesh).
  • Third: Jawhar Abdu Mohammed (Ethiopia)

Winners in Level One (Female): 

  • First: Hind Radha Danaan (Morocco).
  • Second: Fatima Jumaa Mohammed Hassan (Egypt).
  • Third: Salwa Ibrahim Shaaban Youssef (Egypt).

Winners in Level Two: 

  • First: Nadi Rabi Mohammed Mohammed (Oman).

  • First: Inas Mutahar Saleh (Yemen).
  • Second: Hiba Azeddin Mohammed Al-Khair (Sudan).
  • Third: Aya Mohammed Iklil (Egypt)

Winners in Level Three: 

  • First: Abdulsalam Badass Olaghoki (Nigeria).
  • Second: Abdulrahman bin Abdullah bin Mohammed (Egypt).
  • Third: Osama Mohammed Al-Shafi'i (Egypt)

Winners in Level Three (Female): 

  • First: Thin Ji Moon (Bashira) Thin Tin (Myanmar).
  • Second: Tayba Ahmed Mohammed (Saudi Arabia).
  • Third: Sarah Bashar Khalifa (Turkey)

Winners in Level Four:

  • First: Ahmed Abdul Latif Ali Ibrahim (Egypt)
  • Second: Mahmoud Abdu Abdul Salam Othman (Egypt)
  • Third: Abdullah Abdulaziz Ali (Somalia, 18 years old)

Winners in Level Four (Female): 

  • First: Thiri Moon (Hameera) Thin Tin (Myanmar)
  • Second: Samira Zubair Ahmed Hussain Sadiq (Saudi Arabia)
  • Third: Samira Taha Ahmed Abdullah (Saudi Arabia)

It is noteworthy that the prizes included a full scholarship with a university shield for the first place in each level, a half scholarship with a university shield for the second place, and a certificate of appreciation with a university shield for the third place in each level.
